Geopolitical & Economic Summary
Arandis is a specialized industrial and educational hub located in the Erongo Region of western Namibia, situated approximately 15 kilometres outside the coastal city of Swakopmund along the B2 highway. Originally established in the 1970s to serve the workforce of the nearby Rössing Uranium Mine, Arandis has evolved beyond its mining origins into a regional center for vocational technical training, mineral exploration services, and renewable energy development. Surrounded by the hyper-arid expanse of the Namib Desert, the town benefits from strategic proximity to the Port of Walvis Bay, making it an essential industrial satellite along the Trans-Kalahari Corridor.
